It is a greater step towards the modernising and simplifying labour laws and regulation. It will create and expand social security benefits for employees across India.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A brief detail of four labour codes are:<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"1_Code_on_Wages_2019\"><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Roboto, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 32px;\">1. Code on Wages, 2019<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Ensures <strong>universal minimum wages<\/strong>, timely payment of wages, and a uniform definition of wages across all sectors.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2_Industrial_Relations_Code_2020\"><\/span>2. Industrial Relations Code, 2020<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Streamlines dispute resolution, regulates trade unions, standing orders, and promotes harmonious employer-employee relations.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"3_Code_on_Social_Security_2020\"><\/span>3. large<\/p>\n<p>sections of workers remained<\/p>\n<p>uncovered<\/td>\n<td width=\"293\">Under the Code on Wages, 2019, all workers to receive a <strong>statutory right minimum wage payment<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Minimum wages and timely payment will ensure financial security.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"133\">Preventive Healthcare<\/td>\n<td width=\"226\">No legal requirement for employers to provide free<\/p>\n<p>annual health check-ups to<\/p>\n<p>workers<\/td>\n<td width=\"293\">Employers must provide all workers above the age of <strong>40 years with a free annual health check-up<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Promote timely preventive healthcare culture<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"133\">Timely Wages<\/td>\n<td width=\"226\">No mandatory compliance for employer\u2019s payment of wages<\/td>\n<td width=\"293\"><strong>Mandatory<\/strong> for employers to provide <strong>timely wages,<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>ensuring financial stability, reducing work stress and boosting overall morale of the workers.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"133\">Women<\/p>\n<p>workforce participation<\/td>\n<td width=\"226\">Women\u2019s employment in night shifts and certain occupations<\/p>\n<p>was restricted<\/td>\n<td width=\"293\"><strong>Women are permitted to work at night <\/strong>and in <strong>all types of work <\/strong>across all<\/p>\n<p>establishments, subject to their consent and required safety measures.<\/p>\n<p>Women will get equal opportunities to earn higher incomes \u2013 in high paying job roles.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"133\">ESIC coverage<\/td>\n<td width=\"226\">ESIC coverage was limited to notified areas and specific<\/p>\n<p>industries; establishments with<\/p>\n<p>fewer than 10 employees were generally excluded, and<\/p>\n<p>hazardous-process units did not<\/p>\n<p>have uniform mandatory ESIC coverage across India<\/td>\n<td width=\"293\"><strong>The benefits of ESIC and coverage will be extended Pan-India <\/strong>&#8211; Some of the major challenges are:<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Challenges_in_Implementation\"><\/span>Challenges in Implementation<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Need for awareness among small businesses and workers<\/li>\n<li>Initial transition costs for updating policies and systems<\/li>\n<li>State-level rule variations<\/li>\n<li>Training HR teams on new compliance requirements<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To effective management of challenges, the government may introduce awareness programme and enable digital platform more user friendly.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Conclusion_A_Landmark_Transformation_in_Indias_Labour_Landscape\"><\/span>Conclusion: A Landmark Transformation in India\u2019s Labour Landscape<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>After implementation of the four Labour Codes, there is a high portability of benefits across states and sectors towards social security, stronger protections and effective compliance management.
